I started this blog because I have a tremendous problem. It is a daily tendency for me to drift away from what I ought to believe in most strongly. I stray away from what is good, right, and glorious and into what is sinful, wrong, and wicked. I need to be grounded in something. I need to be constantly reminded of not just who I am, but whose I am.
Thankfully, we who are Christians, do have that Anchor. Something to be tethered to in the midst of our sinful proclivities: the Gospel of Jesus Christ. My hope for this blog is that I am personally drawn closer to God when I am tempted to drift away into gospel forgetfulness. This blog is actually more for me than it is for you! However, if I can serve anyone else in drawing their eyes to Christ when they are not focused or assisting them in sinking their roots deeper into the truth of God’s word, then this blog would be a fantastically worthwhile endeavor.
“Let us also lay aside every weight, and sin which clings so closely, and let us run with endurance the race that is set before us, looking to Jesus, the founder and perfecter of our faith.” (Hebrews 12:1-2)
Run the race. Defy the drift.
